We go behind the Brand of Pole Position Raceway with Bob Weber.
Bob Weber is one of the many talented faces behind the Pole Position Raceway brand. He is also the President and CEO of 6D Helmets which has quickly revolutionized the off-road motorcycle and bicycle industries with an innovative safety system. It’s a dual-liner system that has won him many awards including Product of the Year from one of the top magazines in the sport. All of us at Pole Position Raceway are very proud to call him one of our founding members, and no doubt he will continue innovating for years to come.
Weber became involved with the chain of indoor kart tracks at the invitation of co-founder Ken Faught. “For nearly 10 years, Ken and I worked together at Dirt Rider magazine,” said Weber. “I was the publisher, and he was the editor-in-chief, and when he told me about the idea of Pole Position Raceway, I thought it was a no-brainer.”
Pole Position Raceway opened its first track in 2005 in the southern California town of Corona and the company has entertained millions since.
Those involved with the Pole Position Raceway brand include former NASCAR Champ Kurt Busch, IndyCar racer turned team owner Sam Schmidt, AMA Supercross Champions Jeremy McGrath and Chad Reed, World MX Champions Grant Langston and Greg Albertyn, NASCAR reporter Jamie Little, famed motorsports helmet painter Jason Beam, X-Games Freestyle Gold Medalist Mike Metzger, off-road racing legends Dick Burleson, Randy Hawkins, Barry Hawk and multi-time motorcycle hillclimb world champion Kerry Peterson, to name a few.
The Behind the Brand video series was created to show karting enthusiasts the diversity and professionalism that has gone into developing Pole Position Raceway and it’s vision - to create the most-realistic racing experience that most people will ever experience in their lifetime, and to allow other entrepreneurs the opportunity to join us as we popularize a fun and dynamic family oriented sport.
