Pole Position Raceway Now Open in Syracuse, New York

Syracuse Go Kart RacingPole Position Raceway is pleased to announce the grand opening of the nation's first high-performance indoor kart track inside a mall.

The all-new facility is located in Syracuse, New York inside Destiny USA at 9090 Destiny USA Dr. This is the eighth indoor track that Pole Position Raceway has opened since 2005, and the first in New York. The all-new race track is located inside a 45,000-square-foot, climate-controlled entertainment center filled with exclusive racing memorabilia, state-of-the-art video games, and HD televisions scattered throughout for continuous sports viewing. Most importantly, the facility also uses the company’s state-of-the-art ECO-friendly electric karts, which are capable of speeds up to 45mph.

"The track turned out way better than we ever expected," said Ken Faught, president and co-founder of P2R Karting, Inc. which licenses the Pole Position Raceway brand. "I think people who visit the mall will be absolutely blown away at what franchise owners Eyal Farage and Karen Davis-Farage have created. When Jason Williams and I conceived the company nearly a decade ago, we never imagined that we would be in one of the largest malls in the United States. The group who owns the mall recently spent $850 million dollars on expansion, and at 2.3 million square feet, it's the fifth-largest mall in the United States. We are also proud because the mall is very environmentally sensitive and is a verified LEEDS project."

"I believe the mall concept is going to expose more people to the sport of indoor karting," said Jason Williams, co-founder and CEO of P2R Karting, Inc. "A wide range of people can participate in our brand of entertainment, and it's great for walk-in racers, birthday and bachelor parties, and corporate events."

Check out this cool video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gigl8_CpJIg that has the potential to go viral. It shows karts racing up and down the hallways of the mall before heading into the new Pole Position Raceway facility. It's very creative and no doubt one of the most-unique karting videos ever produced!

NASCAR Champion Kurt Busch, AMA Supercross Champion Jeremy McGrath, ESPN/ABC personality Jamie Little, and X-Games FMX star Mike Metzger are among the celebrities involved with the Pole Position Raceway brand. Pole Position Raceway’s Syracuse location is open Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m.-11 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11a.m.-12 a.m., and Sunday from 11a.m.-10 p.m. Like All Pole Position Raceway facility, the Syracuse track offers both adult and Junior (for kids at least 48" tall) karts. I drove at your Destiny location last evening. I found the karts to be very quick and the track layout to be well done, with two full speed sections. I do wish the karts had front brakes, which would help to prevent the repeated spin-outs by the inexperienced drivers. Perhaps the inexperienced could be kept at 2/3rds. speed until your track controllers feel that they can handle the torque.
Other than the repeated red flags, it was a very pleasant experience. Your track folks did a very good job, under the circumstances. I will participate in league racing when it begins. Thanks, Tim Farrell
