Pole Position Raceway FAQ's

Do I have to bring my own kart?
No, Pole Position Raceway provides state-of–the art Formula EK20 karts for adults and EK10 karts for junior Racers. Our karts are can speed up to 45mph for adults and approximately 20mph for kids.

What is the difference between electric and gas-powered karts?
The chassis is actually the same; the only difference is the power source. Pole Position Raceway uses electric karts because they accelerate harder, smoother and offer more consistent performance than gas-powered engines. Electric karts are also quieter, produce no fumes and keep the track clean since they do not leak any gas or oil onto the surface.

Oh yeah; they are also more fun to drive – and faster!

What are the special requirements for kids?
All drivers need to be at least 48 inches tall and be able to safely operate the karts. Racers under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian sign a minor release liability form

What special safety equipment is required?
You will need to wear an approved safety helmet which Pole Position Raceway will supply. Participants are not required to wear a race suit.

What should I wear?
You should wear comfortable clothing and you must have closed-toe shoes.
Pole Position Raceway does have rental shoes for those who forget safe footwear.

What is RPM?
It's a high-tech way of ranking you against every driver on Pole Position Raceway's European-style road course. You start out with a Race Performance Measurement of 1250. After each race, the computer system takes into account who you have raced against, how often you race and how you finish in each race to recalculate your Pole Position Raceway RPM. Your ranking will go up and down based on your racing performance. After each race, you are provided with race results that show your lap times, your RPM and how you did against the other drivers in your race.

Can I bring my own helmet?
Absolutely, but it must be Snell/D.O.T-approved. If the sticker is gone, the helmet will not be allowed. All street helmets must include a face shield, and those who bring in motocross-style helmets must bring in their own goggles with Lexan lenses.
